The technician's home screen. Jobs are grouped into visual tiles color-coded by type (Routine, CMPL, Growth) so the day's workload is scannable at a glance. Tap any card to open its job details. For users that don't want to get overwhelmed with information. Technicians can choose between this and the List View as their default view to maximize efficiency based on their comfort.

Atlas is a modernized ticketing platform for AT&T Network Technicians — built for efficiency and usability, by technicians, for technicians.

I was the lead UX Researcher and Designer for the project, with work including technician interviews, client requirement document creation, design creation and iteration, and cross communication interfacing with developers and client groups.

Atlas Web — For Technicians, By Technicians

Researching to understand the responsibilities and job functions of every type of technician was the first step in the development of Atlas. After interviews were completed, data was then synthesized to identify pain points, potential features, and focus areas for UX improvement. These findings turned into the initial designs that were presented to stakeholders including the clients and development team to ensure the business needs were being met and designs were feasible.

The primary focus of Atlas was not just to modernize the UI, but to increase usability by reducing swivel both within the platform, and outside through integration with supporting platforms.

The result: a modern, sleek UI that helps give technicians focused work without limiting their ability to work.

The final product of Atlas is a powerful platform that retains the technicians' core functionality needs while increasing ease of navigation and speed of completion.

Atlas was made successful by the bottom-up mentality of thorough user research to define features and steps, as opposed to top-down design philosophies.
